White portion vs. original portion snus: the difference
Updated
Warning: Snus is a tobacco product. It damages your health and is highly addictive. This guide explains formats – it is not advice to use snus.

Original portion
Original portion is the classic form of portion snus: the pouch is moistened during production, so it feels damp and starts releasing flavour and nicotine as soon as it is in place. That gives a quick, intense start and a full tobacco taste – but also more drip and a shorter session.
White portion
White portion snus is made the same way, but the pouches are not moistened on the outside. The drier surface takes a few minutes to become moist, so nicotine and flavour are released more slowly and evenly. White portion drips less and usually lasts longer, which is why many people find it more comfortable.
Don't confuse it with “white snus”
“White snus” or “all white” usually means nicotine pouches: tobacco-free pouches with plant fibre and nicotine. White portion, on the other hand, is real tobacco snus – snus vs. nicotine pouches explained.
What about strength?
The format doesn't change the nicotine content – that is set by the mg per pouch. Because white portion releases more slowly, it often feels a little milder at first. We show every product's mg per pouch and strength level in the ranking.
Questions
Is white portion snus stronger than original?
Not by itself – the nicotine content per pouch decides that. White portion releases nicotine and flavour more slowly, so it often feels milder at first and more even over time.
Is white portion snus the same as white snus?
No. White portion is tobacco snus with a drier pouch surface. "White snus" is a common name for tobacco-free nicotine pouches.
Which drips less?
White portion. Its drier surface means less liquid and less brown colour on the gums than moist original portion.
