How we measure strength
We compare products by the amount of nicotine per pouch in milligrams, as stated on the can or by the manufacturer. Brand dots and names like “Extreme” follow each brand's own scale and can't be compared. On our scale, products over 6 mg per pouch count as Strong, over 9 mg as Extra strong and over 13 mg as Ultra strong – all levels explained.

Why mg isn't everything
Two pouches with the same mg can feel very different. How fast nicotine is released depends on the moisture of the pouch, its pH and its size. Dry pouches release more slowly, moist ones faster. That is why we record the felt kick from our own test on a separate 1–10 scale. It describes a product – a stronger kick is not better or worse, and it is never part of our score.
Be careful with shop claims
Some shops advertise figures far above what is printed on the can, or mix up mg per gram and mg per pouch. A big number on a can is often mg per gram – per pouch it is lower, depending on the pouch weight. We always convert to mg per pouch.
